Valentine’s Day Dinner Traditions
Jasha Brown, senior
Every year on February 14th many couples and families go out to eat to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Some people go out to eat while some stay home.
Veronica, a student at Heights, said that her parents go out for Valentine’s Day, but her mom leaves a special dinner for her and her brother. The meal that her mother prepares is meatloaf and mashed potatoes made into a heart. She also said that their dessert is chocolate hearts and cake.
A senior at Heights, Jasha, said that Valentine’s Day is her birthday, so she gets a special red cake made from her favorite bakery. She also said that this is the year her mom makes her favorite dinner, which is seafood. Jasha also decorates the table with heart confetti and happy birthday confetti. She received many Valentine’s Day and birthday gifts.
Ivy, a student at Heights, said that she makes a confetti cake for Valentine’s Day and cuts it into a heart! Ivy also receives gifts from family and friends on Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day can be spent with anyone or anywhere- it’s the love that counts! Happy Valentines Day!
